I’m going to be really open and honest with you here.
I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 14 PCOS is “a hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges.” It also means I can go anywhere from months to years without menstruating so I don’t ovulate, I am more prone to diabetes, I can’t seem to lose weight or keep it off, I grow hair in places I would really love not to, and I break out in acne like I’m a teenager again. But the best one of them all, I can’t get pregnant. The cause of polycystic ovary syndrome isn’t well understood so there is no “cure”. I didn’t mind it at first because it meant that my menstrual cycle was irregular (and what girl wouldn’t be happier about no period) but it also meant that I would struggle to have kids. I didn’t fully comprehend at that time how much pain that would eventually bring me.
Many of you know that Angel and I have been trying for nearly 5 years now to start our family. We have tried clomid, metformin, and other medications with no success. At this point, IVF is our only hope to start a family and as many know it can get very costly. Family is everything to us and we would love nothing more than to have a child of our own even if it’s just one.  And while I know I’m still young and “have time”, my mom andAngels parents are only getting older, i don’t want to keep letting time pass us
